The Pivot
I was working on a fitness app concept, Pondus (an old English measure of weight), when a friend at Qualcomm let me know about an app competition Qualcomm Life was promoting for (working) health apps that would connect with their 2net & HealthyCircles platforms.
The competition timeline was 10 months. When I heard about it though, the deadline for submissions were due in 24 hours. If anything, I thought this would at least be a good exercise in a quick turnaround project.
SALUS
Salus was the goddess of safety and well-being, which felt like an appropriate name for an app aimed at a patient’s safety and well-being. The app would use the 2Net system to sync patient’s information, doctor appointments, prescriptions, & provide notifications.
When Qualcomm also announced the winners of the Global 2net App Developer Challenge, I was awarded second place.
“We have a number of collaborators now leveraging our 2net and HealthyCircles Platforms in really exciting way. Leading organizations like the American Heart Association, WebMD and BioScrip, are working with us and our ecosystem members to develop innovative solutions that expand patient access to improved care and tools to better manage their own health.”
